SPECIALISING IN PLASTIC & RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

BACKGROUND

As a young boy growing up in Matatiele in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, Bruce Lelala always dreamt of becoming a doctor and helping those in need. Despite numerous challenges and setbacks, he managed to achieve his ambition, and in 2019, became only the second Black South African to qualify as a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at the University of Cape Town, joining the small number of plastic surgeons on the continent. With a population of almost 60 million, South Africa has less than 180 plastic surgeons, placing Dr Lelala in a unique and privileged position to serve his country.

TESTIMONIALS

Dear Dr Lelala,

"I trust this email finds you well.

I can't thank you enough for the special, excellent care you have provided and for the beautiful gift you have given me. I am blessed that you are my doc!

My journey was so smooth from the first consultation till the end, it was just beautiful. Even after my procedure you were still available to answer any questions I had with regards to the healing process. Choosing you to be my doctor was the best decision I have ever made.

I still wake up and look myself in the mirror with disbelief of how perfect your work is, SUCH BEAUTIFUL ART.

Thank you for taking such great care of me. You have a special gift as a surgeon and as a person. Thank you for giving me my life back.

To all your great staff who were also involved in my case, I would like to say THANK YOU. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and I felt like home. From Itumeleng at accounts, Pamela at the hospital reception, Gay and nurse Mpho.

Dr Lelala - Amazingly skilled and impeccable bedside manner.

"I had a breast reduction (from F to C Cup) by Dr Lelala and I can’t articulate how amazing the experience has been. Pre surgery, Dr was very reassuring answering all my questions, making recommendations and giving an appropriate level of detail. I knew I was in good hands. Post surgery was a delight, both the Dr and his staff checked in on me regularly in the first 2 weeks. Dr Lelala was amazing with all my questions, new sensations, post op care tips etc. My recovery has been relatively easy with little pain & neat scarring. I was so happy with the result I wanted to hit the gym 3 weeks in and get the rest of my body to match the girls! His staff is also brilliant from admin and pre surgery prep to post surgery check in. It's unusual to describea surgical experience as delightful but it would be accurate. 5 star recommendation from me on skill, bedside manner and patient satisfaction.” - R. Moloko

Breast Reduction Surgery with Dr Lelala

In 2018 a good friend of mine invited me to breast reduction support South Africa. She did this because of the daily complaints about my back, shoulder and headache I always had.

Over the years I watched the ladies blossom as their lives had been transformed by the breast reductions that they had Surgeons perform on them. I then decided to do a screen shot of all the ladies breast reduction pictures and together with the information of the Dr that had performed their surgery. I then compared the pictures and decided that I was satisfied by DR Lelala’s work.

I then decided to work on my self-esteem as I was married when I was 23 years and was a victim of domestic abuse. I then joined the gym because I weighed 105kg I also enrolled at school and started part time studying. I worked really hard on accepting and loving myself.

As I lost wait my breast got heavier as they were not going anywhere and not getting any smaller. I then decided to apply for my medical Aid as my soon to be x husband had taken me out of his medical Aid. At the end of August 2020 I became a member of Gems.

On the first week of august I then contacted Dr Lelala’s rooms and spoke to a lovely helpful lady (Lee) , she gave me Dr Lelala’s Email Address and asked me to email him an tell him why I needed the surgery done, and so I did. To my Surprise and joy Dr Lelala was very quick to respond to my email and I was very grateful as I was not expecting him to prioritise me as he did.

Dr Lelala and I had a consultation over the phone and he posed few questions about my health ,weight , height , BMI , pictures (Frontal and profile) of my breasts . The Dr then compiled a letter for me and sent it to my Medical Aid. A week later my Medical Aid approved my Surgery.

On the 15th of September my life was to be changed forever as my breast reduction surgery was done. And onthe 17th of September I was discharged. Although I was in pain but I was amassed by the stitching and by how they looked immediately I could already tell that I was going to be the envy of many people. The pain was better every day the swelling was going down every day I was seeing results on a daily bases. My breast look beautiful.

I now and then contact Dr Lelala when I have any questions. I always get answers and it’s never long after I asked the questions. Dr Lelala is a very kind man uno Buntu. Am astonished as I should think a man that is so educated and holds such a high ranked profession can treat me in such respect, such humanity as if he knows my struggles, my past and how life hasn’t been kind.

Today is the 16th day post my operation and now and then I still experience pain but it is not bad. It is myfirst day at work 2020-10-01 and I am copping.

Thank you. - Nwabisa Mvango.
